Central Control Units: WAVES & TACWAVES Integrated Base Stations

Cooper Notification offers a fixed-site Central Control Unit as well as a portable version that is ideal tactical operation, forward unit deployments, disaster management and temporary events.

WAVES Base Station
WAVES (Wireless Audio Visual Emergency System) Integrated Base Stations (IBS) and TACWAVES IBS are sophisticated central command systems that are designed to alert, warn and inform people of what to do before, during and after an emergency or disaster. The IBS features an easy-to-use GIS-based Graphical User Interface (GUI).

The IBS can operate as a stand-alone system or be integrated with other Command and Control (C2) systems using XML-messaging interoperability for improved situational awareness. The system can also be integrated with security, fire-alarm, access control, telephone alerting as well as Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosive (CBRNE) detection systems. In addition, WAVES IBS can communicate with CAP (Common Alerting Protocol), an XML-based data format for exchanging public warnings and emergencies between alerting technologies.

Issue commands and monitor the status of the radio network and all audible and visual warning devices.
Transmit pre-recorded or live (microphone) voice announcements as well as visual messages.
Can be field-programmed to execute pre-scripted, automated responses.
Have a robust built-in test/fault isolation capability
Enable automatic, zone-specific, or event specific distribution and activation of an unlimited number of emergency messages.
GIS Map User Interface that allows the operator to select zones, sub-zones and transceivers on a local site map.

The IBS is enclosed in either a desktop, rack-mountable enclosure, cabinet enclosure or a ruggedized case that includes its central processor, WAVES software, base radio unit and an audio/data interface unit. It also includes a 17-inch LCD monitor, a tabletop push-to-talk microphone, monitor speaker, and a key-board and mouse.

The IBS contains a high performance Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), which provides back-up power in the event of a loss of the normal utility power source. On some models of the IBS, the UPS is an optional feature.
